This is the last one I plan to make for a while. I like making them but need to move on to other things. Plus, they start looking all the same to me. Taking a break will be good as I tend to come up with new ideas/designs if I stop making something for a while. I also want to try adding wire hair and glass bead arms. Have to get that all engineered in my head first.
Little People With Legs
I was able to finish up the two Little People figures with the three legs tonight. I thought I wouldn’t have enough components made but fortunately it all worked out.
I really like the one on the right and want to keep it for myself but I already have 5 of them and that’s all that will fit on my shelf that the cats can’t get to. I want to make one more for another friend and this will be all I make for the time being.
Bouncy Little People Figures
After the raffle of my Little People figures at the Beads Of Courage event, a couple people asked me if they could buy some figures since they didn’t win them. As I said before, I’m not selling these. Fortunately, the people that want them belong to my play day posse. (yes, that’s what we call our group) We have most of our play days at their houses and we use all their equipment – which is way more than I have so I get to play with hydraulic presses, rolling mills, and the flat lap grinder to name a few. I am really grateful that we all get together, share ideas, supplies, projects and techniques and very happy they like my figures. So, I’m making two more sets of them so they can have a pair each. I got enough components done to make two of the bouncy ones.
I still have the three legged ones to make. Will be working on more components tonight.
Last Little People Figure
Here’s the last little people figure that I just finished. I think I’m going to keep this one. I like the other two better for the Bead of Courage raffle.
They are a bunch of fun to make but take a while to make all the components. Then I need extra components since I don’t know how things are going to fit together. So I end up with lots of extra components that I can’t really use unless I make another figure. Which I might in the future but this is it for right now.
Another Little People for BOC Event
I finished my second little people figure for the Beads Of Courage raffle.
I think this one turned out kind of cute. I put a little flower on the collar. I’m going to make one more and pick out of them which two are the best and donate two of them. They are kind of fun to make since anything goes. I can use up all my short rods of glass.
Little People Figure For BOC Event
My glass bead club is hosting a Beads Of Courage fund raising event in a couple of weeks and I made a little people figure for the raffle. I’m planning on making another one, this is the first one I’m donating. I still have to make the components for the second one.
These are kind of fun to make as anything goes. I want to experiment with adding hair and arms later. I wish I had more time to but I have to have these done by next weekend so I can give them to the raffle chair person before the event. Sure hope some people will donate toward this.
A Whole Box Of Push Pins
I filled up a whole cigar box of push pins. Yeah!!
I still want to make about 10 more sets, so that’s 30 more pins. I still have my work cut out for me especially if the weather stays hot. I can’t seem to get a good chunk of time in the garage. I have to keep coming inside to cool off. These are ready for the fall craft shows. Hope I sell them all!!
Skeleton Key Necklace
I found this skeleton key with the bead on it recently. I made the bead on the key a long time ago. I didn’t really like it because the barrel of the key isn’t round so the bead doesn’t turn all the way around. It does move up and down though. I finally decided to do something with it because I really like the bead.
Easy peasy putting it together. Finding all the components was another thing…..
Back To Push Pins
I sold a ton of push pins last year and got really burned out making them. Now that I’ve had a break from them I’m getting back into making them for the fall craft shows. Here’s the first ones.
Ignore the dust on the glass. It’s from the corks. I sand the bottoms down so they don’t roll around. The frog face, the one on the bottom left is a new design. So are the spiral designs. Still trying to come up with new ideas.
This little piggy stayed at home and missed the group shot…..
Zipper Pulls
Getting ready for the fall craft shows!! Made some zipper pulls. Rice balls and mochi trees.
