Circles Pendant

This one didn’t turn out like I wanted it to. I had to make a change at the last minute because I stupidly scratched the colored pencil part. It’s really sturdy but touching it with a spinning drill bit will cause damage to most anything. So, I had to cover up the scratch. Still, I like it, maybe not as much as I envisioned but I still like it. I also learned not to do the highest most rivet until the end. I had to position the piece in the edge of my steel block to get the rivets done.

New Colored Pencil – Silver Pendant

I’m having a lot of fun making these colored pencil on copper pieces. It’s nice working with sterling silver too. This piece I raised the copper piece off the silver base with crimp beads.

Front view

Side view. It’s still hard to see the piece is raised. It looks crooked in the picture but it really isn’t.

Back view. Probably should do more finishing on it. I like to do a brush finish as it is easier to take care of since sterling silver tarnishes so easily. The challenge in this piece was making sure the tube bail wasn’t going to be in the way of the rivets. I like using tubing for bails. It’s so much easier than having to make the bail from scratch. I have a few more colored pieces already done, just have to do the silver part.

Last Mica, Paper And Copper Pendant

Yep, this is the last one. I’m moving on to other things. This one uses some cute pictures and backgrounds with an “inpire” word on one of the tags. I added a little bead dangle at the bottom.

This is one side.

This is the other side.

One More Mica, Copper and Paper Pendant

You know I can’t just make one or two of the same things. So here’s another mica, copper and paper tag pendant with the Japanese stickers. I used two stickers for this one since these pendants don’t have a front and back side.

This is one side. I used an etched copper sheet that has music on it.

This is the other side. I’m still not done with playing with mica but I think on my next one I’m going to do something a little different. Not sure what – yet.

Another Mica, Copper And Paper Pendant

I bought some Japanese image stickers eons ago and decided they would work well in this pendant. I didn’t have to cut the sticker out, making it all that much easier. And I could use it as a template for the other pieces. As most know, I hate measuring and cutting accurately, that’s why most of the things I make are free form.

My bad camera skills account for the washed out pictures. The Japanese sticker isn’t so faded as it looks her. This one side.

This is the other side. I think on my next one I’m going to use two Japanese stickers so one shows from both sides. I was planning on using a jump ring to hold all the pieces and then the pendant would have a definite front and back. But that didn’t work out. I’d have to make a ginormous jump ring in order for all the pieces to lay vertical so I just threaded them onto thin copper ball chain.

Copper, Mica And Paper

My friend was talking about using mica sheet in some project she wants to do so I decided to take mine out and play with it. I was going to make dangle charms but ended up making these tags:

I used etched copper for the front and back covers. I probably should patina the copper so the design shows up more. The other 6 tags are paper covered with mica, then riveted using those scrapbook eyelets or whatever they are called. It’s hard for me to make things the same size as I hate measuring anything so that was the challenge for me in this project.

Skeleton Key Necklace

I found this skeleton key with the bead on it recently. I made the bead on the key a long time ago. I didn’t really like it because the barrel of the key isn’t round so the bead doesn’t turn all the way around. It does move up and down though. I finally decided to do something with it because I really like the bead.

Easy peasy putting it together. Finding all the components was another thing…..

Almost All Glass Bead Necklace

I’m naming this necklace – Prima Donna, for Donna Conklin that taught me how to make these beads. Or at least most of them. She made a necklace similar to this one and I just loved it so I finally got a chance to make my own.

The only bead that isn’t glass is the pewter Green Girl bead on the left. The rest are all glass.

Laurel Burch Etched Pendant

I bought some Laurel Burch rubber stamps eons ago and loaned them to my friend to use so she could use them to etch copper. She gave me some of the etchings. I made this simple pendant with one of them today.

I didn’t have a lot of excess copper so I couldn’t get a better shape. The copper is riveted onto a back of sterling silver and the bail is soldered on. I also added a little cab for interest.

Red Cord Flower Necklace

I like the way this one turned out. But then I like red and pink. And on a black dress or top, I think it would look great.

I did this one a little differently. Not that anyone can tell. I made the flowers with a hole all the way through, instead of making them on a copper wire. I sewed them directly onto the cord. I thought it would be easier to place the flowers but it’s still a little difficult to get them where I want them.
