Another Candy Jacks Necklace

I made another Candy Jacks necklace in the same colors as the last one for a friend. They are fun to make, though they take quite a few murrini. I’ve got to start building up my murrini stash which means either making them myself (yuck) or buying them!!

Wishing everyone a fabulous 4th of July!!

Candy Jacks Necklace

I completed enough beads to make my first Candy Jacks necklace. Lots of the murrini are orange/corals so I paired them with different coral colored glass beads and dangles.

Meet My New Kitty Iggy

This is my new kitty that I got yesterday. He’s supposed to be a tuxedo colored kitty but his white spots seem to be all over the place. He’s 12 weeks old and is big for his age. He’s not the cutest kitty but he’s already so silly. He still needs to get acclimated to his new surroundings. He hasn’t met Marley yet, I’m hoping they will be able to meet in a few days. This is the first decent picture I got of him. He’s not that easy to take a picture of since black doesn’t photograph that well.

Candy Jacks

Lori Peterson, a wonderful bead maker did a tutorial on these beads. I just had to try them. Mine aren’t as colorful and playful as her beads as I don’t have or make my own murrini. I guess I could, it just takes time to make a bunch of them. Much easier to buy them and have a good selection.

In the same torching session, I made a bunch of other dangles and beads, just playing around. Here’s all the beads including the above beads all on one chain in no particular order.

I guess I need to buy more murrini.

Orange Flower Big Hole Bead and Some Dog Bones

I haven’t been that productive making beads this weekend. I’m probably the only person that can make a crappy looking frit bead. I bought some reduction frits and all the beads I made with it turned out hideous. Nothing like others that I’ve seen. So, here’s my meager beads for this weekend. I wanted the orange bead to be red but I picked up the wrong rod. Still, I think it turned out pretty good.

The dog bones I’m making for a friend. These are the colors that she used in the focal bead she made so I’m hoping that some of these will work in her necklace design.

Turtles, Fish, and Shells

I make bookmarks and cell phone charms with beads like these. It’s nice not having to make a set, just whatever I want to make. I made these and others for a contest my glass club is participating in. These were extras. I don’t have pictures of the contest piece yet. Hopefully our piece wins!!

Dog Bones

It was a busy weekend so the only torching I got done was a few dog bones. I’m trying to make some for my friend and these turned out to be the wrong colors. I thought I picked up a red rod of glass but it was really orange. Oh well, I’ll still be able to use them for something. They are pretty tiny so they will make good dangles or charms.

The Monsters Are Coming!

Monsters are so fun to make!! They can be whatever my imagination will let them be. Course, they probably won’t be too wild. I’m constricted to making them without any fragile parts so that means no arms or legs or thin antennas. Still, it fun using any colors I have on my table and they still turn out pretty cute, don’t ya thing?

Four More Copper Cored Beads

I’m having so much fun making larger beads. I hardly ever make focal type beads and while these really aren’t focal beads, they are bigger than my norm. Guess I was kind of in a green mood when I made these. Kind of strange since I don’t like green.

Skull Bead

Still working on beads for boys for the Beads of Courage program. Here’s a not so scary skull bead that I made.  It shows both sides of the bead.
