Collaborative Jewelry

My friend was asked to make an all etched clear and sterling silver necklace and earrings by a buyer. It’s tough making beads all one color, especially clear. I made the flower beads, she made the rest of the beads and designed the pieces. The buyer wanted lots of dangles.

This is the pendant. The flower looks great cored with silver bead caps. There are tons of dangles too!!

This is one of the earrings. It’s not as big as in the picture. I love all the Lifesaver bead dangles.

Little Pendants

I made a few pendants out of some of the glass cabs I made. I was going to use them for a bracelet but these are so cute I want to make more. Now I wish I made a better assortment of cabs so I’d have more of a variety. It will take me a while before I can “borrow” someone’s flat lap grinder to grind more cabs down.

Sorry about the crappy picture. I just can’t seem to take very good pictures when things are too shiny.

Something Different

Yep, this is something totally new for me. I got together with some friends for a play day and we all worked on different projects. I got started working on bezel setting these glass cabochons that I made a while ago. When I came home, I finally got my micro torch hooked up so I could finish this bracelet. Now I can solder any time I want. I’m so excited!!

Some New, Some Old Cored Beads

I just finished making the dichro beads and I wanted to get a picture of all the beads I’ve cored recently. Not exactly sure what I’m going to do with them yet.

Metal and Glass Pendant

I made this last summer when the weather was too hot for torching.

Two different views. The bottom bead is a big disk with a flower bead on top, then a round bead. They are set together with a screw. The metal is nickel silver. It’s finished with a leather cord for the necklace.

Dolomite and Metal Pendant

I made this last summer after I took Susan Lenart Kazmer’s Cold Connections class. It was a blast!! This one has two piece of metal that have tubing between them so it’s dimensional. I didn’t like the dolomite stone afterwards. It was too blah so I added the little charm on the top. The sheet metal is bronze and I believe the rest of it is brass. It’s all done with cold connections, nothing is soldered. I love making these free form pendants.

Riveting Pendant

I got a bead coring machine and have been playing around with it. After breaking a few beads, I caught on to how it all works. Makes coring beads so easy. Here’s a pendant I made just to see if I could rivet a bead onto a piece of metal. I think it worked out pretty good, don’t you think?

The metal back is bronze and all the rest is brass.
