New Bracelet
I bought these two pieces of Chinese Writing Stone eons ago. Finally got a chance to use them.
I really like how this turned out even though it’s a simple and easy bracelet. When worn it’s really comfy, can’t even feel it on my wrist.
It’s Been A While
Gosh, I haven’t added anything for a while. I haven’t been out making beads for a couple of months due to hurting my back. Still been making things, just not beads.
Beaded a bunch of eggs and made them into pendants. These were have a wooden egg shaped core.
Made a crochet barrel bag to hold my knitting projects. This bag too FOREVER to make. I wanted the bag to be sturdy and crochet tightly. Made with Shibui Twig yarn.
Knitted some dish cloths for Christmas presents. These are made out of 100% cotton yarn.
Made a few leather, string and beaded bracelets. Uses some deer antler buttons for the clasps.
Took Fred Zweig’s class on forged collars. Was able to make a couple collars and a bail. Really fun class. Fred has so much knowledge and is willing to share everything he knows.
New Bracelet
I bought these awesome dichroic cabochons from a gal in the UK. Her pieces sell out within seconds and I kept missing out so she made these especially for me.
I bezel set the cabs into sterling silver. Love the way this turned out.
Hinged Bracelet
I took a class this past weekend and made this hinged panel bracelet with a threaded clasp.
Not perfect as there’s never enough time in class to get things just right. Still, I’m happy the hinge and threaded clasp works.

Seed Bead Bracelet
Got back from the High Sierras on Saturday. I always pick up a seed bead kit to make while I’m there since there’s no TV or Internet. This bracelet was designed by Laura McCabe. Her patterns and instructions are awesome!! So easy to follow. This one is called Eiffel Tower Bracelet. The Swarvorski gemstones sit up from the base on four “prongs” with a beaded bezel. Very ingenious design, though the bracelet is a bit too gaudy for me. Took me 6 days to complete.
Leather and Big Hole Bead Bracelet
I bought some corded nappa leather a while ago and never got around to using it. It’s a double wrap around bracelet with a magnetic clasp. I want to see how the beads move around, it they drop to the back of the bracelet or stay on top. It’s going to get worn next week to try it out.
I added some sterling silver beads in between the cored beads for more bling.
Kumihimo Bracelets
My sister was here for the holidays and she brought a kumihimo cording kit. I’ve wanted to make one but didn’t want to get into buying the supplies for another hobby so I’ve been putting it off. Here’s a few that she made. I added the end caps and clasps. These cords make up quickly so she made several in just a few days.
The one on the right is the fibers that came with her kit. The one on the left is from stuff I had already. I had some fringe-like yarn that made the little wisps of fiber stick out all over. I want to make a beaded cord someday.
Tab Bead Necklace and Bracelet
What I started doing was try to figure out how silver glass works but in my lame attempt, I started making these tab beads. They looked cute and not knowing what to do at the time, I just put them into a container. Then I found out I had a gift certificate from Rings and Things from 2011!! Yippee!! I was able to get some silver beads to space the tab beads out. I was able to make a necklace and bracelet.
The beads do turn so they aren’t all lined up when worn. I like them moving around. Makes it more interesting.
