Two More Copper Wavy Bangles

I made a couple more in copper. I added some dome silver circles on one of them. I might do one that has the circles all the way around the bangle.

I really like the rustic look. And it’s nice to wear more than one of them at a time.

Yahoo!! I Finished My Bracelet!!

I’ve been wanting a chunkier silver bracelet and finally got all the glass cabs made. The disc beads are by Outwest Beads. I only wish I could make a disc bead in one color that turns out symmetrical, much less thin layers of different colors.

SilverGlassBeadBraceletFinishedThe clasp is hidden under the left circle component. I was going to do a different clasp but I didn’t like the way it fit together so I scrapped that idea and went with a hook type clasp. If I knew that when I made the big half loop on the other side, I would have made that smaller. Oh well…..

Two Skeleton Keys With Beads

I don’t have much to show this week as I’ve been working on a bracelet that has several components so it’s a bit time consuming. I did get some glass beads made on skeleton keys. I really like to make them. It’s fun to have the beads move around.

SkeletonKeys

Because I’ve been playing with dichroic glass, these both have a bead made with it.

Okay, a sneak peek at my bracelet. I have three components done so far.

SilverGlasBeadBracelet

I still have two more components and a clasp to make. This probably won’t be the order they go in when I finish the other components, I just wanted to see what they looked like linked together.

Pink, Black and Silver Necklace

I made this necklace to go with a black velour top that I cut wedges into and added some pink, black and gray sweater fabric. I previously made a felt and velvet pin and wanted another option for an embellishment. I won’t be wearing the pin and necklace together, that would be too much. Plus, I didn’t have a pink necklace so what better time to make one.

PinkBlackNecklace

This is about 20 inches long. The sparkle from the dichroic beads look really nice on the black top.

Another Wavy Bracelet

I decided to try one out of thinner copper. I was doing well, then I soldered the bangle with the wrong side facing out. I wanted to do something different but since I now had no texture in the inside, the best way to cover it up was with the silver wire “bones”. I put a bunch on this one.

WavyBangle2ndOne

I also used silver solder on this one and since it’s more malleable, I was able to get the copper folded over without it cracking.

This is both bangles stacked together. It needs another one and hopefully my next one will go in the middle with different embellishments. WavyBangles

Wavy Bangle

This is my first wavy bangle that I learned from a tutorial that Robyn Cornelius wrote up. I decided to use copper for my first one since sterling silver is so expensive. Don’t want to make any mistakes. I just happened to have some copper strips already cut so I used one of them. It was too thick so I wasn’t able to get the shape round but I kind of like the organic look.

This is the way it looks flat.

Couple of side view pictures. Forgive the orange bead prop in the last picture. That was the only thing I had sitting on my table that worked.

Really Colorful Necklace

I end up with a bunch of short ends of rods of different colors and after a while they start taking over my table. I decided to make some beads out of them. Here’s the results.

EncasedColorfulNecklace

I did use a bunch of clear to encase the beads but the rest was what was on my work table.

Colored Pencil On Metal Collaboration

My sister is here for the holidays and she wanted to make a colored pencil on copper pendant. She colored the copper piece and we collaborated on the design. She wanted it to be a brooch so I worked on those components while my sister struggled to saw the sterling silver piece out. I took over the sawing process and sent her off to find some #65 size drill bits. She came back from the store with a $3.99 pack of different sized drill bits. Must have had 40 bits in that package, all combined together. After sorting them out and finding the one I needed I attempted to drill with it. I couldn’t get a hole drilled all the way through which should have been easy for a brand new drill bit. I had to use one that was a bit bigger. It’s best to use the right size holes when riveting so it was a little more difficult. Here’s the finished results.

ColoredPencilOnMetalPin

I would have liked more surface texture to the piece as I like the contrast but this is what my sister wanted. I think she did a great job on the colored piece. ColoredPencilOnMetalPin-Back

This is the back. I know I didn’t do a very good finishing job but I did get the pin back worked out. I don’t do that many pin backs and have never done one like this before.

More Big Hole Beads

I got these beads cored with sterling silver tubing yesterday.

They all use different base colors and all of them I used different colors of frit on. Some have a floral look to them. I think I have enough to sell at the next craft show now.

Big Hole Beads

I made some big hole beads for bracelets like Pandora, Troll or Chamilia to sell at the last craft show. I did well considering I only had a few of them. I decided to make more. These just got cored with sterling silver tubing.

I kind of like making them as nothing really has to match. It is a challenge to keep the beads small with such a big hole though. Coring isn’t that fun but it makes the bead look so much nicer.
