Two More Paracord Keychains

Made these with black paracord. Even though it’s the same size as the camo colored one it’s softer so I got a thinner and tighter knot effect.

Camo Paracord Keychains

Made these for a customer that buys stuff from me every year.

CopperCapped Pix1 Pix2 Pix3The first pictures shows the whole thing. They are made out of real paracord. All will have split rings but I was too lazy to add them for these pictures. These are supposed to be for guys so I tried to stick with more masculine colors for the beads. I cored the beads with copper tubing.

Bells Of Ireland Necklace

BellsOfIrelandNeckace2

Another Laura McCabe kit that I bought a while ago. I love her kits, the instructions are easy to understand, no guessing on what to do next. This one took a while as I had to make 12 small bell flowers which are highly detailed, though hard to tell in the completed piece.

Leftovers Necklace

I had a bunch of leftover silver pieces from previous projects, Small pieces of chain, jump rings, short pieces of wire and punched out holes from silver sheet. They were taunting me, wanting to be used for something instead of sitting in a dark drawer. Not sure what I was going to do, I started putting pieces together, soldering each component. The one thing I did use that wasn’t leftover was some Argentium silver wire. I had some sitting around for the longest time. I heard it the wire balls up cleaning, unlike sterling silver. Decided to give it a try. Not one to test before starting, I just 60 pieces and took them out to the garage. I used my glass torch and was able to get a big clean ball without any pitting. Not only this, it seems to make bigger balls. I used 18 gauge wire and the size of the balls surprised me.

After finishing a decent length, I decided to add a shorter chain as it seemed kind of sparse. It’s funky, it’s rustic and I think I’ll be making more of these. I have more ideas for different chains and I like how nothing has to match.

Some close ups…..

While it was fun doing the smashed balls, it was much harder to smash the second end AFTER balling up each one. Might have been easier to do them before putting in the next piece.LeftoversNecklace3

New Bracelet

I bought these awesome dichroic cabochons from a gal in the UK. Her pieces sell out within seconds and I kept missing out so she made these especially for me.

DichroBracelet

I bezel set the cabs into sterling silver. Love the way this turned out.

Another New Ring

I wanted to make a band ring with silver filings fused onto it and square wire on the sides. I got the silver filings fused on just fine and one side of the square wire, the other side soldered on crooked so I removed it and started over. I accidentally cut a new piece of square wire in a different gauge and soldered it on before I realized it wasn’t the same as the other side. Decided to melt one side to give it an organic look rather than taking it off again. Then I sawed the end off a bit short and even with stretching the metal a bit on my ring mandrel I couldn’t get it to fit the finger I wanted to wear the ring on. So I cut it and decided to add a cab. Looked through my stash, couldn’t find a cab that I liked. I didn’t want to buy one, went on a scavenger hunt looking for something that would fit. Found a small flat pebble. But not flat enough to bezel set. What to do, what to do? Decided to drill a hole in the pebble and rivet it to a piece of metal. Here’s the finished ring.

SilverFilingsAndRockRing SilverFilingsAndRockRing4Thought it would be a little heavy but I’ve been wearing it for a whole day and don’t even notice it there. Sometimes mistakes can be changed into something that looks like it’s planned out. I’m happy with the way this turned out.
