Another Squiggle Wire Necklace

I decided to try another one using different colors for the glass balls. I made the balls bigger so they would show up more too.

CurvyWireNecklace-RandomColorsThese are so much fun to make. I love bending the wire into different shapes.

Squiggle Wire Necklace

This necklace was a test to see if I could make small glass balls on the end of wire. One end was balled up and then hammered flat and drilled to make a hole. The wires are linked together with a wire going through the holes, then the glass ball is added to the other side.

Enameled Piece Pendant

I wanted to try to set an enameled piece in a bezel setting so this piece was all an experiment.

BezelSetEnamelCirclePendant

Not crazy about this piece but I did achieve what I was trying to do and that was set the enameled circle in a bezel. That part went smoothly, no cracking the of any enamel. I added a few embellishments, like the brass rivets on the side and the little cab at the top. I was planning on using fibers for the dangle, hence the reason for the larger hole but I didn’t like the way it looked. The bead dangle is a tad better.

Enameled Pieces

I didn’t get a chance to make a lot of beads this weekend. My cat had dental surgery this weekend and needed extra care. I was able to get together with my play day group and we played with enamels. Here’s the stuff I made.

Discs

These are domed copper discs. The one on the left had some interesting texture in it before I put a layer of clear enamel on. I should have left the clear enamel off. Lesson learned. The right one, has little beads that I stuck on I used some pigment enamels to add some red dots. Probably could have added more. FormFoldandHydraulicPressPieces

The left piece was totally different until I put some colored enamel on it. I have no idea what I’m going to do with it yet. It’s a form folded piece I made eons ago and I have no idea how I’m going to set it in something to make it into a piece of jewelry. Maybe in another eon, I’ll come up with an idea. It doesn’t sit flat so that’s an issue right there. The piece on the right I domed with a die on a pneumatic press on textured copper. There is only a coat of white enamel on the top so the colors from the copper came through. I like the way this looks so I’m not experimenting on it. I’ll probably set this one first since it’s the easiest.

More Trees and A Pendant

I thought I was done with trees but decided to make some for presents. Here’s the last two I made.

Trees3They are so addicting!! I thought about using different colors but since they are ornaments and trees, using the red and goldstone seems like the only fitting colors except for green.

I was also able to get another Japanese crest pendant assembled.

AsianCrestFront3Just took a picture of the front since the back is the same as the previous ones. I have one more in the works……

Another Asian Crest Pendant

I’m really liking making these. I love to rivet and using escutcheon pins makes it so easy.

I think the next time I etched these crests I’ll use blue Press n’ Peel paper for the resist. It makes the etch so much smoother. I used rubber stamps for these.

New Copper Pendant

I etched these Japanese crests onto copper a few weeks ago. I riveted one to another piece of copper and ran a chain through the two pieces. I had to add the end caps to the chain after putting the pendant on as the end caps would not fit through the pendant. Here’s pictures of the front and back.

The back I used a gingko leaf etched design. I thought it works well with the Japanese crest.

Viking Knit Bracelets

I previously made up some copper viking knit and cut it into small sections for bracelets. These are two I just put together.

PartialVikingKnitTurquoise

PartialVikingKnitOrganicBeads

The second one is my attempt at “organic” beads which I don’t have very good success at.

Two More Friendship Bracelets

I’ve been wearing two bracelets all week long at work to see how well they hold up. So far so good. And they are really comfortable. I thought about wearing them to bed to give them the real test but have yet to try it. I’m not used to wearing jewelry to bed, except earrings that I never take off. These are two more that I finished.

2ndTwo

These bracelets are a lot of fun to make.
